I just learned that Dudley Simpson passed away on the 4th at the age of 95. His musical compositions created a definite mood for Doctor Who stories in the 1970's. He was relieved of his duties as the 'goto' composer by JN-T when he took over producing the show in late 1979. Some would say that his music could have a sameness to the melodies over different stories, but he also had some rather unique ones as well.

He composed for more than just Doctor Who. He was responsible for not only the main theme for Blakes 7 but also the vast majority of its incidental scores. He also composed the theme for The Tomorrow People as well as many other programmes.

I will miss him, but am grateful that we will always have his music.

He was such a huge part of DW and was a terrific composer, but like Whoozier said..."we'll always have his music."
