Absolutely crushed to see this news today Crying or Very sad She passed from cancer after being diagnosed only 6 weeks ago. So many of the strong female companions of the Doctor are falling to this insidious evil. Going to watch Tomb of the Cybermen in honor of this fine lady.

Horrible, first Trevor Baxter and now dear Deborah Watling.  Bad times.

She was one of the first Doctor Who companions I met. I have a photo of myself standing between her and Mary Tamm... also gone.
