Actor's who should have played the Doctor throughout History. Who would you pick? I would have loved to see Gene Wilder and David Bowie play the Doctor.

Roddy McDowell is an excellent choice! Never thought of him for the doctor, I'm thinking mid 20's Roddy. What is your opinion? Younger or older? Anthony I can't visualize him as the doctor but Rassalon would be good casting. Superb t.v. actor, any performance of his make you think Doctor? I would enjoy watching an episode to see it.

For me, I think Roddy in his 40s... ala 1970s era (think Legend of He11 House)

When talk started up that they might go with an older Doc, Anthony is the person I thought of. You arent going to get the goofy manic funny man that Nu Who got into a rut with. He's got class and presence (think Doc 3) and could easily slip into the same mentorship role (watcher/ slayer) with a younger companion (3 and Jo, 7 and Ace). And along the same lines of Doc 7, Anthony can also bring some darkness to the role (Repo: The Genetic Opera).

I did think most of Seven when you said Anthony, If he were cast, I think his version would be uniquely separate from the others...which is a good thing. I think the changes from 1-5 were the best. Also eighth and ninth were great.

Also I think Jason Issacs would be amazing in the role and could do serious or Arch. He should definitely be a time lord of some kind... Maybe Omega.

Here is the version of Anthony Stewart Head that I can picture being the Doctor in between Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy. He could dress up in a black suit and tie, or All dark blue like bakers alt costume.

These are cool choices! I have always liked Alexander Siddig from Star Trek DS9 as a future Doctor:

I love DS9, I remember often watching it right after episodes of Next generation. Alexander would do quite excellent I think... This picture makes me think of Peter Cushing for some reason, speaking of DS9, I really wish this had been put out on Blu-ray. Wonder whats up with that?

The TNG sets did not make as much money as they had hoped, and it was an expensive venture to begin with. Also, DS9 and VOY both had a great deal of CGI, which was rendered in SD, so all of that would have to be recreated, and although it is my favorite series, DS9 is not considered a "popular" enough entry in the franchise for CBS to spend money on it.

Random list of actors who should immediately be given guest appearances before it's to late: Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Ian Mckellen, Anthony Hopkins, Hugh Laurie, Colin Firth, Tim Roth, Idris Elba, Ethan Hawke, Guy Pearce, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Stephanie Leonidas & sister, Morgan Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert Downey JR.,
Directors who should get 2 parters: Peter Jackson, Ridley Scott (seriously, how has this not happened?), Guillermo Del Toro, Christopher Nolan, Joseph Kosinski, Duncan Jones, Neill Blomkamp, Joss Whedon, and Rian Johnson.

Perhaps the dark guardian, or a retired timelord. Actually, I think if we put a Hartnell wig on him that might be fun... No offense to David Bradley who should get his own spin-off consisting of 15 min episodes that effectively gain us all missing stories of the Hartnell era. And as a thank you he should get a full season of original episodes and a special of some sort:)
