Doctor Who - The Colony in Space (1971)

One of my top five Pertwee stories. I remember when I first saw this on PBS I believe it was the third or fourth story they showed, as the ones with B/W episodes weren't included in the package for PBS stations in the 80's. Of course I had read the Pinnacle/Target adaption first and Malcolm Hulke had a way with fleshing out his characters on the printed page.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine - The Die is Cast (1995)

Definitely one of my top five episodes of DS9, not just for the amazing space battle, but also the tight script and of course the interrogation of Odo by Garak, showing what he is truly capable of.

"To successfully crash a party, you have to look like you belong. You must project confidence. Every detail of this so called Terran Empire must be replicated exactly. Wherever we may fall short, we have to get creative. Our very survival relies on our ability to maintain this cover... no matter what. We are now the ISS Discovery."

Captain Lorca, "Despite Yourself"

Just finished re-watching the first season of Discovery. Once you see the whole season through, it makes sense of why some things are the way they are. But, to make a mutineer as the hero of a series is not what I would consider to be a positive role model for all the social justice warriors of the world.

Silent Running (1972)

A really under appreciated film. A story that acts as a warning to what could still come to pass if humanity doesn't starting taking better care of this world.

Doctor Who - Planet of Fire (1983) Having survived a snowstorm and frigid temps this past weekend, I decided to watch the special edition that was released in 2009.

2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984)

Saw this in the theater and thought it was pretty good.

The Blu-ray transfer could have been done a bit better in my opinion, but it is a budget release, and those never have money spent on them.

Transformers 5 - The Last Knight

I went in with low expectations. I still feel cheated out of $3.00 for this Blu-Ray. Not sure how Anthony Hopkins has fallen on such hard times that he needed to take this role. In fact, not sure how the whole of the British Isles was not offended by this film.

Star Trek Discovery - New Eden (2019) WOW! just, WOW! THIS is what Discovery should have been from day 1! Absolutely enjoyed this episode like I enjoy Westworld, and Jacob would be an amazing addition to the crew!

Doctor Who - Enemy of the World Special Edition

Apart from the episodes, the only thing special is the extras included. They are very nice.

I'm watching the "Behind the Sofa" things from the Peter Davison blu-rays.
I don't like watching it when Mark and Sophie are on. They can't seem to
follow the plot. I'm on The Visitation right now and they are confusing
the Teralaptils (sorry for the spelling) with the Silurians.

What's funny is somewhere in one of the Behind the Sofas, the subtitles refer to Kinda as Kinder.

SURPRISE!

ST-TNG Data's Day (1991) Always enjoyed the balance between a Day-In-The-Life and the Romulan gmabit in this episode.

Buck Rogers - Time of the Hawk (1981)

OK, so the opening narration sucks and not having Mel Blanc voice TWIKI is a real downer, and sure Wilma becoming a space stewardess was to some "the last straw", but having Thom Christopher join the cast as Hawk was brilliant. And yeah, Dr Goodfellow is not a patch on Huer and Theopolis, but we did get a couple of decent episodes this year.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century - Mark of the Saurian (1981)

To me this second season episode was most like anything from the first season. And I had that toy that doubled as Buck's view screen "remote"

Doctor Who - Planet of Evil (1975)
My very first Doctor Who story, and one that had an amazing design job done by Roger Murray-Leach with the jungle planet. A shame we didn't get a Sarah Jane figure from this story. Her outfit epitomizes the 1970's being in denim and the frills on her top. With all the talk aobut the B&M 4th Doctor TARDIS set I had to pop this one in, as the TARDIS had this signage in the story.
